Air Duct Cleaning Orange County
Research has shown that the air inside of the average American home is more polluted than the air outdoors.
You bring pollutants into your home every day on your clothing and shoes. Once inside, the only way for these pollutants to escape is through the air duct; however, without air duct maintenance, the air duct exit narrows with dirt and grime build-up.
Without proper professional maintenance, your home HVAC system is likely to contain fungus, bacteria, pollen and dust-mites. These pollutants hang out in your air duct and then circulate right back into your home! Neglecting your air ducts can cause these pollutants to build up and cause health issues for your loved ones.
If you choose Same Day Restoration and Carpet Cleaning, not only will we greatly increase your air quality; your HVAC system won’t have to work as hard – saving you money!
What are the benefits, if any, of having your Air Ducts cleaned?
Regular cleaning of your air ducts can have a significant impact on the indoor air quality of your home. Air Ducts, over time, accumulate pollutants such as mold, fungi, and dust particles to name a few. A thorough Air Duct cleaning by a professional helps to eliminate most of these pollutants creating a cleaner, fresher, environment in your home.
How often should you clean your Air Ducts?
This is dependent on a few factors like how many people are in your home, if there are any smokers who live with you, if you have pets, and whether or not you suffer from asthma or allergies. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends that you clean your air ducts every 3 to 5 years. We would recommend having them cleaned every 2 years if you suffer from severe allergies in order to maintain the freshest environment possible in your home.
Do we have to leave the home while you are cleaning our Air Ducts? No!
When we are servicing your ducts you can feel free to go about your home as you normally would. The cleaning is not particularly invasive or noisy and our technicians make sure to block off the vents they are not working on to prevent any of the pollutants from being blown into your home.
Can I just clean the air duct vents without doing the HVAC system?
We follow the National Air Duct Cleaners Association guidelines when it comes to cleaning your Air Duct system. The only time we would clean just the ducting, without servicing the HVAC, is if you were planning to replace the old system with a new one. If you were not planning on replacing the old HVAC system, we would not be able to service just the ducting because as soon as you turn on your air or heat all of the pollutants within your HVAC system would blow into your ducting, rendering the cleaning ineffective.
Factors That Influence Air Quality
Here are just a few factors that can cause your air ducts to harbor pollutants:
- Smoking or second-hand smoke from neighbors
- Hair and dander from pets
- Any water in your home or air duct
- Leftover dust and grime from renovations and projects
Our Air Duct Cleaning Process
We adhere strictly to the recommendations from the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, or NADCA, along with the Standards and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA.) We inspect and clean the air system’s components: the air handler, return system, heat exchanger, coils, blower, distribution plenum, supply ductwork, and the diffusers/registers to ensure a thorough cleaning.
Upon inspecting your air ducts, we may recommend an EPA approved biocide to thoroughly disinfect non-porous system components.
Next, with your permission, we will identify and repair any air leaks that you have in your HVAC system.
While cleaning your HVAC system, we use the most effective and safe products. Lastly, we’ll repair and seal all access openings cut into the ductwork. We finish by vacuuming and dusting the work area.
