Carpet has it’s benefits, but hard surface flooring is easier to clean and maintain. Consequently, many homes in Orange County are moving away from carpet and are replacing it with wood, ceramic/porcelain tile or natural stone (such as travertine or marble.)
While mops, Swiffer sweepers, and other over-the-counter cleaning tools do a great job maintaining your floors overall appearance, they cannot replace having your tile floors professionally cleaned.
Over the years, mold, mildew, and debris become stuck and trapped in your tiles pores and grout lines. This is especially true in heavily used areas such as the kitchen and bathroom.
Mopping tiles can get rid of soft surface stains; but over time, dirt and grime will build up in your tile and grout that mopping cannot reach. The same thing happens in showers as well, except it is soap scum build-up that just won’t come off no matter how hard you scrub!
At Same Day Restoration and Carpet Cleaning, our technicians are highly skilled in cleaning your tile and grout with proven techniques, highly effective equipment and cleaning products. We’ll restore the cleanliness and shine to your tile floors, countertops and showers.

Our Tile Cleaning Process – Tile cleaning Irvine
When cleaning your Tile cleaning orange county , the very First thing we do is make sure to protect any furniture and surroundings. Prior to cleaning, we place drop clothes, corner guards, and tape off appliances and cabinetry.
Second, we complete a thorough inspection. We look for any problem areas and then address them with you prior to service.
Third, we spray down either an alkaline or acidic solution (depending on the type of tile and it’s soiling condition) that will loosen and break up dirt and grime on the tile and deep down within the grout.
Fourth, we scrub all grout lines with our floor machine – and sometimes by hand in smaller areas – and detail the edges with a grout brush ensuring proper agitation.
Fifth, we use a state of the art tile tool that is attached to our high-powered truck mounted system to blast away any remaining dirt and grime.
Our final step in the cleaning process is to apply a grout (and tile if a natural stone) sealant that will help keep dirt, oil and liquid from seeping into your grout and tile.
Professional cleaning of this caliber helps to maintain the cleanliness of your grout and tile, prolonging the life and use of your flooring, counters, and showers.
We specialize in Saltillo tile cleaning and sealing and are equipped to perform stripping and re-coating. Saltillo tile, also known as Terra Cotta tile or ‘Mexican Pavers,’ is a beautiful natural stone tile known for its unique rustic look. Saltillo tile is a very porous and easily absorbs dirt and oil if not sealed correctly. With our cleaning methods, we are able to clean and seal both indoor and outdoor Saltillo tile to keep it looking bright and beautiful!

How do I tell if I have a natural stone or a man-made tile?
The easiest way to tell the difference between man-made tile and natural stone is cost. Natural stone tiles (like travertine or slate) are more costly than man-made tiles (such as porcelain and ceramic.)
If you did not purchase the tile, another way to tell the difference is to feel the surface. A man-made tile is going to be non-porous and smooth; a natural stone tile is going be porous and rough to the touch.
If you are still in doubt, don’t worry. Our technicians are highly trained and certified in both man-made and natural stone cleanings. They’ll be able to tell you what type of tile you have prior to the cleaning.
How often should I get my tile flooring professionally cleaned?
How often you should clean your tile depends on a few factors such as:
- The location of the tile (e.g. a kitchen floor is going to need to be serviced more frequently than an entry)
- Whether the grout/tile has been properly sealed
- Whether you have pets
- How many people are living in your home
We recommend that you have your tile cleaned and sealed once a year in heavily used areas, (like the kitchen and bathrooms,) and every 1.5 years in areas that get less use. If the grout/tile is not sealed, then the recommendation is to have all areas cleaned every 6 months to prevent the growth of mildew.
How long do I have to wait before I can walk on my tile?
The tile should be completely dry before the technicians leave. If you have a natural stone tile and the technicians applied a topical sealant to it, we recommend waiting at least an hour before stepping on it or using the shower. There is no downtime for man-made tile flooring, but we recommend waiting an hour to use the shower after cleaning.Tile cleaning orange county
Oh no! I spilled wine (or another acidic liquid) on my natural stone. What should I do?
First and foremost, clean whatever was spilled right away.
If the flooring was properly sealed, the technicians should only need to clean and seal the tile. However, if the floor was not properly sealed, (or not sealed at all,) the tile may need to be buffed and polished in order to remove the stain left behind.
Same Day Restoration and Carpet Cleaning can tackle anything from a simple stone clean and seal to a buff and polish. Do not hesitate giving us a call!
Do I have to apply a sealant after cleaning?
We highly recommend applying a topical sealant, especially on natural stone, as it prolongs the life of grout and natural stone tile. Sealant on man-made tile keeps the grout lines clean and protects them from food, debris and liquids.
With regular cleaning, a sealant will allow you to go longer between regular professional cleanings.
Our technicians seal grout lines as well as the surface of natural stone tile as it is porous. When sealant is properly applied, the tile essentially becomes waterproof. When applied on a regular basis, sealant on natural stone acts as a protective layer and significantly prolongs the life of both the grout and tile.
Can you clean/remove grout haze from my new tile?
Sometimes when installing tile, the installer will leave a haze on your tile that is very difficult to remove. It requires the correct products, agitation and power washing. Tile cleaning orange county
